V & J · wedding at Vara Vela
Almost two years in the making: a Thai alms-giving morning, Thai outfits for a Western ceremony, and a party the rain couldn’t stop.
Photo · @blissful.wedWe planned this wedding together for almost two years.
The first time we met, V and J had flown to Thailand to find their venue. We spent the days visiting places together, and in the end, they chose Vara Vela.
They both love Thai culture, so on the morning before the wedding we held a tak bat, a Thai alms-giving ceremony to the monks. And on the wedding day itself, they chose to wear Thai outfits for a Western ceremony. It was one of the loveliest, most beautiful pictures I’ve seen.
Then the rain came down. I’ll be honest, I was stressed. But everyone was still so happy, sharing smiles and laughter, fully there for the two of them, and watching the guests, I couldn’t help but feel happy too.
I loved the evening most of all. The first dance they had practised so hard for, the games every guest threw themselves into, all the way until we sent everyone home at the end of the night.
Thank you, V and J, for the friendship you, your family and your friends gave me and my team, and for trusting us so far in advance. It meant a lot.
