K & C · wedding at Aube, Bangkok
From a venue road trip and a bowl of boat noodles to a gate crash, a tea ceremony and vows at Aube.
Photo · @unposed.1987K and C first reached out from Singapore without a venue in mind. So we did what friends do: we got in the car and went looking together.
Somewhere between venue visits, I took them for boat noodles, those little bowls so many Singaporeans love. I still remember how happy that lunch made them. It’s one of my favourite memories of planning with them.
In the end, they chose Aube.
The afternoon began with a Singaporean gate crash, where getting through the door to your person takes a few games, a little negotiation and a lot of laughter. Then came the tea ceremony, and after that, a Western ceremony with vows and rings.
In the evening, the celebration carried on with a dinner reception and one very Singaporean tradition: two grand entrances. The second one is a show, and K, C and their friends had clearly rehearsed. They gave it everything.
From a road trip and a bowl of noodles to a day that was completely theirs.
