Y & J · wedding at Vara Vela
A Valentine’s Day celebration for 200 guests from Thailand and South Korea, designed down to the signage by J herself.
Photo · Peachy PhotoJ and Y got married on Valentine’s Day, and somehow that felt exactly right.
J is a designer, so this wedding carried her eye in every corner. She designed the invitations and every piece of signage herself, and the whole evening at Vara Vela looked unmistakably like her: soft, considered and a little playful.
Around 200 guests came from two homes, Thailand and South Korea. We coordinated in Thai and English, and an MC who speaks Korean hosted the evening, so nobody missed a single moment.
There was no long ceremony and no script. Just family and a lot of friends, gathered to celebrate, cut the cake together, and then party late into the night.
One of my favourite details: the bouquet J carried in was a gift from someone very dear to them. It could not have suited her, or the mood of the day, any better.
Everything ran smoothly and everyone went home happy. What nobody saw was me, behind the scenes, running a little too fast, falling hard and cracking my knee. Totally worth it.
Love, on the day of love. It doesn’t get much sweeter than that.
